Temporary Membership

Procedures for obtaining Temporary TLCCV Membership

The TLCCV member (sponsoring member) taking a non-club member on a Trip or Activity is responsible for having a non-club member complete a Temporary Membership form. The Indemnity Form must also be dated and signed by the non-club member. If the non-club member is under 18, the Indemnity Form must be signed by their parent or guardian.

 

After completing the forms the sponsoring member emails or posts them to the Membership Secretary so that they will reach the Membership Secretary at least 14 days prior to the starting date of the Trip/Activity. The fee can be paid by EFT, Master Card, Visa Card or cheque.

 

 In response, the Membership Secretary issues a numbered receipt which is sent to the sponsoring member (either by email or mail). The Membership Secretary also notifies the Trip Leader and the Trip Convenor (by email).

 

At the start of the trip/activity the sponsoring Club Member shows the receipt to the Trip Leader.

It must be stressed that the onus is on the club member taking a non-club member on a trip/activity to ensure that the above procedure has been carried out correctly and that he/she has a receipt that can be shown to the Trip Leader. Should a member not have a receipt for any non-club member passengers, the Trip Leader must refuse to allow the member to join the trip/activity.

The fee for Temporary Membership has been set at $15.

 Temporary membership is valid from the date of issue until the next occurring June 30th.

 

Note: Temporary Membership does not allow for the Temporary Member to drive on club trips or activities, except as specified in club by-laws.
