Mt Murray - Mayford

Explore the Buckland Valley on the way to Mt Murray.

On Friday night, we plan to camp near the top of Mt Murray, as it’s a new moon that weekend, so therefore a dark sky, so we can try for some star photos from the summit.

On Saturday we will check out the magical views from Blue Rag, then head down the steep decent to camp on the Dargo River at the old Mayford townsite.

Sunday will see us return to the Great Alpine way at Mt St Bernard.

Jamieson to Mt Skene

This trip tackles the harder tracks in the Jamieson / Mt Skene area and includes Silvermine Spur, Mt Sunday and the Barkly River Road. We will be bush camping on the Saturday night. Returning to finish in Jamieson on the Sunday afternoon

This exciting High Country trip follows the Buckland River, taking in the spectacular views from Mt Murray bfore heading down along the Humphrey River to visit the famous wonnangatta Valley. Our final challenge is to climb the Zeka Spur track.

After leaving Buchan, we will cross the Snowy river at Jacksons Crossing, then head up the Deddick Trail.
After reaching McKillops Bridge, we will head across MacFarlane Flat to Native Dog Flat. We will then head down to Swfits Creek via Hells Hate Hole before heading home.

A large, exciting and family friendly weekend trip to Mt Skene to experience some of the best snow driving in Victoria.
We will be based at the Jamieson hotel, from where we will travel up to Mt Skene to drive in the snow, have some fun, and then return to the pub and socialise!
New members are encouraged to come along, and vehcicle will be split into two groups with two trips run concurrently to ensure that the large number of vehicles run smoothly

Hari's Cookout at Yarck has returned after a few year's break.
The cookout has been designed with everyone in mind, to learn and share their cooking experiences, recipes and assorted paraphernalia that they have collected over the years.
As winter will be upon us (and the tracks closed), we will all be snuggled in our respective hidey-holes. This activity at Yarck is great way of getting out & about in winter & sharing your cooking ideas with other members around the warm camp fire.

 Travel to one of the last great wilderness areas remaining in Australia.

A great relaxing 4 week trip covering over 3000km.
Interesting tracks to 4WD are Creb Tk, Bloomfield Tk, Old Telegraph Line Tk (OTL), Frenchmans Tk & Old Coach Road.

Expect many river crossings (some deep), interesting corrugations, log bridges and some serious side angles.

Extended Outback Trip

NT/QLD Savannah Excursion

Trip Rating - Easy/Medium

Commencing with the Finke River Gorge south of Alice Springs, this trip follows various roads/tracks north to the Keep River National Park in the far north west of the Territory.

From there, the trip follows the Savannah Way (in part) to Queensland taking in various other Parks and points of interest before turning up the western side of Cape York to Kowanyama and Pormpuraaw.

It then crosses to Cape Melville on the east coast and finishes in Cooktown.

A great 4WD Trailer Trip - We will travel through the sandy Wyperfeld Nat Park with our 4WD camper trailers over the Queens Birthday weekend.
With sandy conditions, we will be mostly taking the chicken tracks over the dunes.
Overnight Saturday & Sunday night will be bush camping in Wyperfeld NP.
Camper Trailers must be set up for outback 4WDing & be fitted with off road tyres

Simpson Desert - East West Crossing

We will be crossing the Simpson Desert (east to west) which is slightly more difficult than the more traditional West East route and mainly following the less used WAA line.
We will also visit the Dig Tree & other Burke & Wills historic markers, Cullyamurra Waterhole, Innamincka, Coongie Lakes, Birdsville, Dalhousie Springs.

Visit to Wandarrah
(Nissan Club Property)

A great trip to visit another 4WD club's country property. Leave Caltex servo under the guidance of Nissan Club Leaders, arrive Wandarrah and settle in.
Saturday - drive the various tracks around the Wandarrah area – lunch on the tracks. Arrive back in time for happy hour and socialising.
Sunday – short trip, lunch on the track, return to Wandarrah for pack up and early afternoon leave for home.       
All members need to bring own food
and drink for the Weekend.  
Wandarrah has hot showers and toilets but NO DRINKING WATER.

Extended Anzac Weekend Trip

High Country Rivers Magnifique This exciting High Country trip follows the Buckland River where we will camp overnight.
Next day, take in the spectacular views from Mt Murray before heading down to the Humphrey River for another overnight camp.
Wonnangatta River will be our next camp spot prior to taking on the iconic Billy Goat Bluff Track.
A short walk to the Pinnacles to capture more spectacular High Country views before exiting at Briagolong.

Easter Weekend Trip

Easter on the Deddick

Trip Rating - Difficult

Short notice trip with no need to take a day off work to get to the start point. Spend Easter Saturday driving the iconic Deddick Trail descending the legendary Staircase before camping on the Deddick River.

Sunday is and easier day with visits to McKillops Bridge and the Little River Gorge.

On Monday we will explore some of the little traveled tracks up to the Nunniong Plain before ending the trip near Ensay. Expect rocky and steep sections, black soil bogs and eroded tracks.

Our Border Track trip will take us through the sandy Wyperfeld Nat Park via Lake Albacutya, circling the Big desert via Ross Springs.

 We will then travel through the 'Disputed Country' before heading down the SA/Vic Border Track, experiencing the border sand dunes, before finishing in Nhill.

Take in the superb views from Mt No.3, descend down Westons track to the King River, visit Pineapple Flat, King Hut and Lake Cobbler. View Dandongadale Falls, Victoria's highest single drop falls.

After a night bush camping we will check out the views from the razorback, then continue on to cross the King River on our way to Lake William Hovell for lunch, with one little surprise after lunch, it will be time to air up and head home via Tolmie and Mansfield.

MacFarlane Flat Adventure

This exciting trip starts in Bruthen. We will then head up to the NSW border & 4WD across the Ingeegoodbee Track & MacFarlanes Flat.

After camping overnight on MacFarlanes Flat, we will 4WD to The Playgrounds, at the base of Mt Cobberas No. 1.

A short walk to the summit of Mt cobberas No. 1 is possible. Overnight camping is possible at Native Dog Flat or Native Cat Flat.
Monday will take us down through Hells Gate, exiting out of the 4WD tracks at Swifts Creek,

Did you always wonder what that funny noise was that was coming from your wheel?

 You know, the noise that could ruin your holiday and leave you stranded in the middle of nowhere!

This instruction weekend will tackle a complete wheel bearing and knuckle rebuilt on a Toyota 4WD front and rear.

We'll be using basic hand tools and techniques that you could use on the side of the track.

Starting from Licola we will head north to the Macalister River crossing the river many times before making the steep climb up to the Butcher Country Track.
On Sunday we will head south along the Caledonia River Track with more river crossings beore climbing up Dingo Hill. If time permits, we will head south to the Chromite Mine.

We will be base camping at Mirimbah (at the base of Mt Buller). Some of you may wish to sit around the campfire & listen to Laurie talk about the famous mapping software "OziExplorer" on Saturday morning.

 We will be hitting the 4WD tracks as well, taking in the great climb up to Mt Stirling after visiting Howqua Gap Hut plus some others. Heidi will also be heading off on her MTB to explore the amazing MTB trails around Mt Buller.

On Sunday we will 4WD to Lake William Hovell & return via Pineapple Flat.
